Community demographics and rapidly expanding resource development within West Moberly First Nations traditional territory has forced Dunne-za Ventures LP to develop a business model built upon subcontracting, joint ventures, strategic alliances and partnerships. Working through existing, well established and reputable companies allows Dunne-za Ventures LP access to the necessary capital and expertise to competitively fulfill contract conditions. At the same time, Dunne-za Ventures LP has developed core capability in large, multi-phase contract management; effectively developing a service offering as a “one-stop-shop” Strategic Partnerships are formed where the service niche requires large, dedicated capital investment. Partnerships are currently being developed in a variety of areas. Dunne-za Ventures LP works strategically with other First Nations business entities, including individual band member companies, as well as community based companies. These companies work under the Dunne-za Ventures LP umbrella with the specific advantage of having the ability (or option) for a lateral expansion of their service offerings. A significant part of Dunne-za Ventures LP’s mandate is to work with West Moberly First Nations (WMFN’s) individual band contractors to help maintain their businesses. All subcontractors are independent contractors and are required to provide their own WCB coverage and insurance coverage. Dunne-za Ventures LP will focus on customer needs, with a value proposition comprised of competitive pricing, excellent job quality, project scheduling / timing, and employee safety. Dunne-za Ventures LP will maintain environmental standards of operation at or above industry standards. Dunne-za Ventures LP will continue to develop expertise in project management, coordination of various First Nations and non-aboriginal local businesses, contractor procurement and multi-phase project budgeting and reporting. Sustainability - A key success factor for WMFN’s long term economic self-sufficiency will be the corporate sustainability of Dunne-za Ventures Limited Partnership and Dunne-za Economic Development Corporation. Dunne-za Ventures LP will continue to explore options to become involved in economic development / contracting opportunities that yield long-term relationships. Dunne-za Ventures LP sees the potential to leverage short-term interests into long-term opportunities through strategic alliances and discipline. WMFN’s will promote sustainable business options through its various Impact-Benefit Agreements (IBA) and Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) with industry and governments at all levels. Short term gain will not be put ahead of long-term interests in treaty and aboriginal rights, the environment, and / or economic self-sufficiency. Dunne-za Ventures LP will be managed in a manner consistent with maximizing sustainable shareholder value.
